Motorsport has long had an impact on fashion with its technological advancements, dynamic colors, and great style on the paddock. Scuderia Ferrari is one of the motorsport brands that carry their own clothing line. The rise of Formula 1 to mainstream culture has piqued the interest of many in the fashion world with these worlds merging to create something new.
Let’s take a look at Ferrari’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection titled “Power of Desire” displayed at the Milan Fashion Week.
The mixture between racetrack and runway in this collection is beautiful with its dynamic colors, materials, and the iconic Ferrari red. This collection is sleek, edgy, and innovative. It focuses on the structure and material of the garments rather than large obnoxious Ferrari logos, making it a great addition to high fashion runways.
The historic Teatro Alcione in Milan was transformed into a beautiful classic set with an oval runway, allowing the garments to be in full focus.
The collection featured a dynamic range of colors from the Ferrari red to a striking blue with white bringing in the contrast and copper-toned pieces to balance everything out. The fabric and material choices complemented the colors and details while being an homage to motorsports.
Leather pieces and accessories were a staple on the runway along with structured denim. Lighter fabrics were brought to balance the harshness of leather and denim. These beautifully tailored dresses, blouses, and trousers were a casual luxury – mimicking the shape of tracksuits.
A lot of the accessories involved futuristic sunglasses imitating racing drivers’ visors and well-structured bags.
Our favorite part of the collection were the racing gloves featured in many looks either in a more subtle way to compliment the rest of the look or as the centerpiece.
This is a brilliant choice from the Ferrari designer team to include. The structure of all the gloves shown on the runway is close to the same as Formula 1 gloves and tracksuits yet they look incredibly couture and made in a wearable way.
The racing gloves and visor like glasses were what topped off and polished this collection.
Each piece was well-structured and styled, however the chunky golden jewelry felt off place in many looks.

Scuderia crafted a beautiful collection focused on details, colors, and materials. What we saw on the runway was a true testament to the blend of motorsport and fashion and how they both influence each other.
We wouldn’t be surprised if more and more designers took inspiration, elements, and references from the world of motorsports and brought it to the runway. We’re excited to see how motorsport continues to impact fashion and vice versa and what Ferrari has in store for their F/W 2024 collection.
